My name is Elizabeth Deem, and I am a board certified Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner. I attended Florida Southern College on a cross country scholarship and graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science in biology in 2004. I spent time acquiring hours in the healthcare field working in long-term care facilities and the hospital setting as a nurse’s aide, as well as working on a ranch in Colorado satisfying my love of nature and the outdoors.

 

I felt a strong pull towards nursing, as I longed for a career that impacted others in a meaningful way and I loved how I could achieve this through nursing. In 2009, I graduated with honors from the University of Northern Colorado with my Bachelor of Science in nursing. For six years I worked in the hospital setting on medical/surgical and cardiac units. As an individual always deeply enthusiastic about preventative medicine and maximizing one’s quality of life, I pursued my goal to move into primary care with this focus.

In 2015, I graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Florida with my Master of Science in nursing, and gained experience working in primary care outpatient clinics. Building positive patient relationships and paying attention to the unique needs of each patient while optimizing their health brings me great joy. After taking some time to be at home with my young children, I could not be more excited to be joining Docs Outside the Box.

 

Holistic medicine has become my passion, as I have spent years researching and utilizing holistic protocols for my own family’s health issues, and am so excited about helping others in this capacity. I am married with two children, and some of my hobbies include running, reading, various outdoor adventures and cooking healthy meals for my family.
